Vista Home Premium having problems seeing 2000 server
Hi, I just got a new laptop with Vista Home Premium and I'm having problems seeing the server at work. I can connect to the LAN and the internet works but I can't see the server and no one else can see me. Please help or I'm going to have to buy Xp and load it on the laptop. Thanks

Hi, Thank you for your post. Before we go further, I would like to confirm the following points with you: 1. Is it a workgroup or domain environment? 2. Can the Windows Vista machine access the shared folders on the Windows 2000 Server via UNC path? 3. How does the Windows Vista machine connect to the server? Is there any router or firewall between them? Additionally, please temporarily turn off firewall on the Windows Vista machine, router and server to narrow down the issue. I look forward to your reply. Sincerely, Joson Zhou Microsoft Online Community Support
