Vista Enterprise Wireless 8021x machine authentication
We have a W2k2003 domain - Cisco wireless APs controlled by a wireless controller using RADIUS for authentication. 2 RADIUS policies - first one is authenticate machine & each machine is automatically enrolled when joined to domain and picks up policy then the second is the user must be a domain user. All PCs run Vista Enterprise. On those ones on which the user has a cached copy of their profile there is no issue about logging on to the WLAN or roaming between wired and wireless. However, we pods of 24 in rooms where they will be shared by students who are domain users but will not have necessarily logged onto a specific laptop before. In this scenario I need the laptop to authenticate so that the user can log and then be authenticated but this is not working - they receive a 'no logon servers' message. What do I need to change (preferably in Group Policy where the wireless connection is configured) so that the machine authenticates by the time the logon screen is presented so that a user who has not logged onto that particular PC before and therefore has no cached copy of their roaming profile can be authenticated and log on?
