Vista Bluescreen permanently disabaling network adapters?
A recent 0x00000019 (BAD_POOL_HEADER) blue screen while shutting down seems to have disabled windows vista's ability to load any network drivers. I have reinstalled all of my network adaptors but no luck. When in Computer Management, each network adaptor has a Code 31 error when you click properties. I have suffered from this before on my wireless card but rectified it by rolling back the drivers to a more stable version. Sadly, this will not work for me.Any help would be greatly appreciated, I need this computer urgently for work and my aging windows xp mahcine is in desperate need of a fresh install (alas no money for a new copy). If it helps, I have listed the computer specifications below.> Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600> 1GB of DDR2 667mhz (my 2GB of DDR2 800mhz ram is currently at corsair being replaced)> ASUS P5N32-E SLI Motherbaord (NForce 680i with default BIOS)> XFX 8800GTS 320MB> 320GB seagate hdd> Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit> Netgear WG311v3 WiFi cardList of Network Adaptors:> Netgear WG311v3 (Code 31)> NVIDIA NForce Gigabit Ethernet 1> NVIDIA NForce Gigabit Ethernet 2> Hamachi VPNThanks for any help

Hi, Thank you for your post. Regarding to the Error Code 31 on the wireless network adapter, please try the following suggestions: ========= Try the troubleshooting steps in the KB article 942959 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942959/en-us) Install the latest driver of the motherboard, uninstall the driver of the network adaptor, and then install the latest one. Perform a clean boot-------------a. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and press Enter.b. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.c. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.d. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.e. Click OK, and then click Restart. If the issue persists after that, please reboot the box and log onto Safe Mode with Networking to test the result. How does it work? Regarding to the blue screen (0x00000019), please understand that Microsoft provides different support services which have different service levels and support boundaries. For blue screen crash issues, it is necessary to debug the related crash dump files or the freezing systems to locate the root cause. Also, in most cases, it is necessary to check the source codes as well. Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the forum because of the nature of forum support. A support call to our product service team is needed for the debugging service. I'd like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for assistance so that this issue can be resolved efficiently. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Joson Zhou Microsoft Online Community Support
