Vista Backup Issues - asking for Username & Password backup to shared USB HDD
When I use the built in Vista Backup Utility and select a network drive as the destination. I get prompted for a Username and Password. Network Topology: Laptop with Vista Desktop with Vista with USB attached HDD (shared) When I try to configure the laptop Vista backup utility to backup to the Desktop, I get prompted for a usernaem and password. I do nto want this to happen. I can backup to a local USB on the laptop, but not the networked share. Anyone know a fix?

This behavior is by design. The Vista backup application requires a username and password.
