Vista Adding Access Point As Default Route Causing Limited and/or No Connectivity.
I've looked around and have found similar posts, but nothing that seems to identify the issue that I'm seeing. I'm hoping someone else has run into this, and has a fix. I have a Vista laptop that gets the "Limited and/or No Connectivity" state when it connects to my access point. I know this is an issue with Vista (at least this specific Vista machine) because the WinXP and Ubuntu laptops do not exhibit the same issue. I have a D-Link WBR 2314 Wireless Router that I have configured to work as an access point. I have DHCP, NAT, DNS relay, etc, etc turned off. It still has an IP, so that I can connect to change settings. It is 192.168.1.1. The access point is connected to a ST516v6 DSL Modem, which is also my dhcp server and my router. It's IP is 192.168.1.254. My default gateway. Any wireless computer that connects gets an IP address assigned from the ST516v6's DHCP pool. The problem with Vista is that it's setting 192.168.1.1 as a primary default route and 192.168.1.254 as a secondary. The XP and Ubuntu laptops only have 192.168.1.254, which is what is configured and expected. They can connect to the internet... Vista cannot. I can "fix" the probably my manually configuring the IP settings on the wireless interface and only specifying 1 default route. Clear a bug or something gone wrong on this laptop. Has any one else ever seen this? Is there a possible fix for it? Thanks, Andrew

i have this problem. Though im not super skilled with computer, which means i dont know how to fix the problem, my laptop (using the dell 1395 Wlan card) has been connecting to my home network with limted connectivity. In order to make it work i have to go the wireless router and manually reset it (turn off, unplug, wait 10 seconds) as directed by my computers 'fix me' program. Any help would be appreciated.
