I set up a dual boot with Vista and Win 7 and since I did I cannot connect to the internet on Vista. I had no problems at all before, now it says unidentified network -local only.

Hi, First, I would like to confirm the following questions: 1. Can you access Internet in Windows 7? Does the issue only occur in Windows Vista? 2. How does the computer connect to Internet, via DSL, switch or router? If the issue only occurs in Windows Vista, please let me know. Otherwies, please perform the following steps in Windows 7 to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus program on the computer. 2. Bypass the router or switch and connect to DSL modem directly to check the result. 3. Upgrade the NIC driver for Windows 7. 4. Manually assign a static IP address. If the issue persists, please collect the following information for research. 1. Click the Start Button and type "cmd" (without quotation marks) in the open box. 2. Right click CMD and click "Run as Administrator" option, and then click Yes. 3. In the open command window, input the following command and press Enter Key after it. Ipconfig /all >C:\pingresult.txt 4. Please open Computer and navigate to C:\ folder to find the "pingresult.txt" file and post the result here. Thanks, Novak
