Virtual Networking Help
Hey Guys, I need some urgent assistance here. I've been trying to follow the instructions on most of the threads but no luck. Currently, I am developing an application that I need to test on different machines. Being a sole-developer, I don't have different machines to perform actual testing. My solution: Test in a virtual environment. So, now I have Virtual PC 2007 installed with Windows XP Professional (not 'Windows XP mode' but the actual Microsoft VirtualPC 2007 application). What I need to achieve is run the application in Windows XP, but the application will need to access its SQL Server Database in the SQL Server instance configured and installed on the host operating system (Windows 7). I have followed the instructions on some of the threads available, installed Microsoft Loopback Adapter and configured it on both host and guest OS but no luck. I don't want to install SQL Server on Windows XP because that will not "simulate" a client-to-server connection. How do I go about getting the Virtual PC to "see" and communicate with the host OS through the network? I look forward to your prompt response.

Hi Juan_87, I have seen this question posted numerous times, and never seen an answer. I run Virtual PC, and no matter what configuration I try, I can't get my host pc on the same 'LAN' as the guests. The guests can all see each other, and they can all access the internet (if I set it that way) using my host's network adapter, but they won't talk to the host, and vice versa. Please, gurus, help us solve this problem!
