Viewing Internet Explorer 8 Local Machine Zone settings in browser
Hello!I am currently documenting our IE8 settings on Windows 7and have a question. Although I can value the Local Machine Zone settings via Group Policy, I do not see any way of enabling them for viewing via the Internet Explorer 8 Security Tabs. In fact, in the registry on the test machine I do not find a Zone value for Local Machine, I do see one for the My Computer Zone. (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0)Is there a way to see the Local Machine Zone settings in the IE8 browser? IS there a way to enable the "My Computer" view in IE8? It appears the old method of doing this in IE6 by changing a registry value no longer works. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,On my Win7 machine, I do find the Zone value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 but no My Computer Zone.Since modifying registry can be complicated and incovenent, I would like to share a third party tool:IE Zone Comparer that might be of help.
