Video capture driver

Hi,

We have a video capture device which we cannot identify by name. All we have is the chip name and hardware ID.

We are therefore unsuccessfully trying to search and download drivers for it.

The chip name is:  PCI1640-AA33PC. We believe it a PLX Technology video capture card.

The hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_109E&DEV_036E&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_11

Please assist in the above-mentioned. That will be highly appreciated.

Bt878, WDM Video Capture driver manufacturer is Conexant and developed by Conexant

I only can find this

http://ez93.com/devices/Multimedia/Brooktree/Bt878VideoCapture/

or ask the manufactured for the driver, or just check if this device compatible with Windows 8.1

I suggest just buy new device, find the what meet your requirement, windows 8.1 support, or latest model with reasonable price. This model quite old

I suppose you're right when you speak about getting a new device. I had browsed the page you recommended

before, but hit a brick-wall.

Thanks for giving a hand, but I am still stuck for now. At least until I get another card.

Windows update and updating through device manager also didn't work.

What is surprising with this issue is that we had a workstation that ran this card on a Windows XP platform, but unfortunately its hard drive failed and cannot even be detected anymore.

I guess it's one of those mysteries that the driver is just not available on the net. I suppose!

Since the device quite old, nothing much that can do here

1. call manufactured, ask driver for Windows 8.1

2. buy new device

3. Change your OS and find the available driver

Buy I suggest buy new device as I mentioned in the beginning

Good luck dude!

We finally found the driver for the card with these search words at Google:

"Conexant capture card drivers".

It came up with an FG Engineering site that had the universal driver for some Conexant System chips.

Thanks for all the help britishdhez.
