Very slow over wifi and cable accessing NAS drive
I got netgear nas drive duo and a cisco router. when i try access the files on the drive using both cable and wifi the speed is so slow as i may take 30sec or more to open a 6mb picture.
From what i have been told this relates to windows 7 in some way, any one know how to solve this problem.
I have used new cable and this is the second router and NAS drive, so i think its some setting somewhere!!!
Please help

Hi Peterhugill,
Firstly, please ensure this NAS drive is compatible with Windows 7. You can check the device model in Compatibility Center.
Then, test the speed in Safe Mode with networking and do a Clean Boot in case of any third-party service conflicts.

Configuring the wireless security for WPA2 will definitely help with wireless connections as Windows 7 is not happy with WEP.
Also, consult the configuration recommendations for the NAS. Setting a static IP for it in the router will help.
Finally, it may be that the interface of the NAS is not compatibille with Windows 7 out of box and requires some adjusting of settings somewhere. Netgear support should be of assistance on that issue. I am sure you are not the first to try and use this device
with Windows 7.

Try disabling SMB 2.0 or remove the Microsoft Office File Validation Addin (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=2807)
