Very slow file copy in Windows 7 from network share on Windows SBS2011
Hi, I have a very strange issue. I have a couple of Windows 7 clients in a AD network with a Windows SBS 2011. When I copy a file from Windows 7 TO Windows SBS 2011, my speed is about 65MBs/sec what is good in a 1GBs network. However when I cut a file and copy it from the server to the client; the speed is very bad about 10MBs/sec. How can this be fixed?

I can't find the update inside Windows update on the SBS 2011 server. How can I fix this? Copy to the server is very quick. However copy from the server to the Windows 7 clients is very very very slow.

Hi, I would like to verify if the issue occurs on each client. Please ensure both Windows Small business Server 2011 and Windows 7 have upgraded to Service Pack 1. Also, update the latest network adapter driver and hardware firmware, disable security software or firewall on both sides for a test. Meanwhile, I suggest you post in Windows Small business Server 2011 forum to check the issue from server side. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver2011essentials/threadsNiki Han TechNet Community Support

Requirement for full speed ethernet transfers (75% of 1000 every transfer +) is a Non-blocking, wire-speed transmission switch! Examples: ZyXEL's GS1100-16 16 Port Desktop GbE Switch is a 16-port 10/100/1000 switch (I'm getting 700-800Mbit or 80Mbyte transfers) ZyXEL's GS1100-24 The GS1100-24 is a 24-port 10/100/1000 switch ZyXEL's GS-108B 10/100/1000Mbps Port Desktop GbE Switch is a 8-port 10/100/1000 switch Cisco SR2024 24-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch SMC Networks - SMC8508T - EZ Switch 10/100/1000 - 8-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Unmanaged Switch Linksys SR2016 The 16-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Please try the examples given but if you don't have the right switch then it won't matter what you do at the OS Regards, Jason
