Hi, What Spec if your PC?If it was working fine then just started running slow it may be software issues, viruses / malware etc a repair will not remove viruses etc. I would recommend a few things - Clean all your temporary files including browsing files- Run a malware / virus scan- Check event viewer for hardware issues- Uninstalled any unwanted programs- Do you have updates running, I would recommend updating to SP3 As for your drives are you saying your D: (Normally CD/DVD writer) has changed to E:? If so can you see a D: drive still or has the drive disappeared totally?"If you find my reply helpful please click the 'Vote As Helpful' button next to my reply"

Hi, By the Spec I mean, the amount of RAM in your PC, your CPU speed, your harddrive size and free space etc. This probably wont be that important because you say your PC has run ok before, but its good to know. Use a program like Speccy to find your PC spec - (Its free, from http://www.piriform.com/speccy) I have heard and seen alot about Kaspersky slowing down PC's even as much as Symantec does. If you upgrade to SP3 you will not lose any of your data, but to be sure (Because problems can occur) backup your data - You can use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard tool. When you double click on E: and F: does anything open or do any messages appear. Have you recently installed any new hardware i.e. printer, usb device etc?
