Very, Very slow network transfers.
Im trying to transfer an 8gig file from Windows7, to my XP desktop. Ive set up the sharing and whatnot. When I try copying the file over through the XP machine, It gives me a 250minutes+ remaining. When I try copying the file over through the W7 machine, It gives me some 1.5mb/s. Why so slow? Im doing this over wireless, but it shouldnt make that much of a speed "drop". My other XP laptop transfers large files over the network much faster, and is on wireless too.

Does the same problem exist with Vista in the network? There may be some hardware on the win7 computer or in the network not compatible with some of the advanced networking features used in Vista and win7. You could try some the registry changes listed here.http://silverstr.ufies.org/blog/archives/001035.htmlKerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience
