Vanished thread
What happened to the thread below??? I can find it in a search but if I follow the link I get a message "You are not authorized to perform this action". The thread contained a plea to allow more options to configure the User Interface (to make it more like XP) and as such was critical of Microsoft. Oh well, good luck MS... glacia- When I read posts like yours, I'm often reminded what a lazy lot our society's become. We simply want everything handed to us on a platter without having to raise a finger ... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/e6370fbf-5481-4a53-9612-6e41b003815d/ Related To: Forums(x)

Alan - It would seem to have been removed. It wasn't so much that it was critical of Microsoft, it was more a question of the thread itself degenerating into chaos. You know a thread is in trouble when many of the posts - including the original postin the thread are "red boxed" - i.e. reported as abuse...

Alan, don't take that message personally. It needs to be worded better, but it is just this forum'sway of saying the thread was taken offline. There was a lot of trolling going on, and I probably fanned the largest flame of all. So, blame it on me. Sorry.edit: wolfie - please get rid ofthat remark about the OP being red-boxed, else you'll get me started. I was trying to be nice here.

As I recall, the interchange was somewhat combative but no more so than is frequently found on internet forums. Perhaps it degenerated after I last read it? There ought to be a mechanism for marking threads as removed.
