VPN was working and now isnt
Hi everyone I am trying to deal with a bit of a problem that has come up recently. I am supporting a network that has a quest internet connection coming in on a actiontec pk5000 modem/router that then is connected to an ipfire box that has our windows 2008 server with remote routing enabled. up untill a few weeks ago the VPN from outside the quest modem worked fine. But now nobody can connect to the vpn outside the quest modem and they get an error 800. However, if the person is inside the quest modem say on the wireless connection, they can connect to the vpn just fine. We are using PPTP and port 1723 is open as well as GRE Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on? all clients are using windows 7 Thanks!

This is a VPN server issue, but not related to Windows 7. FYI, the following articles can be references to troubleshoot this issue. Troubleshooting remote access VPNs http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772616(WS.10).aspx#BKMK_1 If it does not work, I suggest you contact the modem manufacturer support and ask if you need to change any settings. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
