VPN tunnel between two offices..
Hello, My goal is to set up a VPN tunnel from our main office to our branch office. To accomplish this, I need a handshake between Windows VPN Server (main office) and D-Link 804 router (branch office). For this, the VPN Server must support twoprotocols - IPSec and IKE. I know that Vista VPN Server supports IPSec. Does it also support IKE? Thank you in advance for your help. Pete

I just ran into some information re: vpn. I read an excerpt from PC Mag. " Windows Vista has a known problem with it's VPN system that sometimes prevents users from connecting. After an upgrade, or even after a clean installation. You may have switched from a wired network to another wired or wireless connection before the VPN failure. If that's the case, Microsoft issued and update to solve the problem. You can get it through Windows Update..."

Hi Peter, Windows server supports L2TP/IPSec VPN tunnel. This is different from IPSec tunnel mode. At present it does not support IPSec tunnel mode. What is your requirement? Windows VPN server does support IKE protocol. It is the control protocol and IPSec is the data protocol.

Hi Peter, Windows VPN server supports L2TP/IPSec tunnel. This is different from IPSec tunnel. Windows server does not support this currently for site-to-site VPN connections. I am not which one you are looking for. IKE is the control protocol for IPSec and Windows server does support this protocol.
