Im a Brit ex pat in Canada and often use a private VPN server I have in the UK so I can watch UK internet TV - BBC news and such alike. This works great on my Win 7 PC. I have an xbox in the lounge which I would like to use the media center extender to watch the same UK programmes. The issue i have is that when Xbox MCE connects to my PC it disconnects my VPN connection. Does anyone know what could be causing this is it Win 7 revoking the connection or does the xbox cause the disconnection? Im using Win 7 VPN and point to point tunnelling im also using TCP/IPv4 not v6

Ive been doing a bit of research and i wonder if it has something to do with Remote Access Connections? There is a registry setting called keepRASConnections that is set to 0 i will change to 1 to see if that resolves the issue! Will report back!

It didnt work - quick question on the VPN connection dialogue box the setting to save the username and password for anyone who uses this computer is greyed out...could that be the issue? And if so how would i get it to be selectable rather than greyed out?

does anyone know where the registry settings are for the VPN connections that we create in Windows 7 - im going to try testing some changes there when i can determine what Registry folder relates to my VPN connection
