VPN connection is missing in Network and Sharing Center even when it's connected
Hello, I'm experiencing a wired problem with the VPN connection on one of my Win7 machines. The VPN is properly set up and works fine, but the connection is not displayed in "Network and Sharing Center", which prevents me from changing the network location of the VPN. Some more findings: An active adapter represents the VPN can be seen in "Network Connections". A simple PowerShell enumerating the network connections cannot find the VPN either. $networkListManager = [Activator]::CreateInstance([Type]::GetTypeFromCLSID([Guid]"{DCB00C01-570F-4A9B-8D69-199FDBA5723B}")) $networkListManager.GetNetworkConnections() Anyone can give me some hint? Thanks, Long

Hi Long, I have also tested this on my side. After the VPN connection is established, it will also appear in Network and Sharing Center and I can change its network location. At this time, please remove the current connection and recreate it to see how it works. To make this issue clear, please capture a screenshot on the Network and Sharing Center when the VPN is established: Capture a screenshot ============== 1) Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2) Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3) In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4) The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5) Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click Desktop on the left pane and then click "Save". Please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the screenshots and share their URLs with us. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Thanks for your suggestions Nicholas. I did re-setup the VPN a few times, the problem persists. As I said, the VPN itself is working but just doesn't not show up in NSC. I have another Win7 machine which is configured to connect to the same VPN. There is no problem with that one at all (VPN connection appears in NSC whenever it gets hooked up) Per your request, I uploaded a screen snapshot HERE . Please feel free to let me know any other assistance I can provide to help you locate the problem. Thanks, Long
