VPN blocking access to my local adapter
I use a software Vagrant to setup VM in my PC. Vagrant creates a network adapter to listen to IP like 1.2.3.4. At this point, from my browser I can access my site like http://1.2.3.4. Everything works fine until I use VPN. my route table looks like this before I connect to VPN ===========================================================================Interface List 12...08 11 96 02 e9 0c ......Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 11...00 21 cc 68 ae 55 ......Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection 29...08 00 27 00 f4 3b ......VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter 1...........................Software Loopback Interface 1 20...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface 13...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2 25...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter 23...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #3 26...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #4 =========================================================================== IPv4 Route Table =========================================================================== Active Routes: Network Destination Netmask Gateway Interface Metric 10.6.46.0 255.255.254.0 On-link 10.6.47.75 281 10.6.47.75 255.255.255.255 On-link 10.6.47.75 281 10.6.47.255 255.255.255.255 On-link 10.6.47.75 281 127.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 On-link 127.0.0.1 306 127.0.0.1 255.255.255.255 On-link 127.0.0.1 306 127.255.255.255 255.255.255.255 On-link 127.0.0.1 306 169.254.185.0 255.255.255.0 On-link 169.254.185.1 276 169.254.185.1 255.255.255.255 On-link 169.254.185.1 276 169.254.185.255 255.255.255.255 On-link 169.254.185.1 276 224.0.0.0 240.0.0.0 On-link 127.0.0.1 306 224.0.0.0 240.0.0.0 On-link 10.6.47.75 281 224.0.0.0 240.0.0.0 On-link 169.254.185.1 276 255.255.255.255 255.255.255.255 On-link 127.0.0.1 306 255.255.255.255 255.255.255.255 On-link 10.6.47.75 281 255.255.255.255 255.255.255.255 On-link 169.254.185.1 276 =========================================================================== Persistent Routes: Network Address Netmask Gateway Address Metric 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.6.251.1 3 =========================================================================== When Im out of office, I connect to network using VPN. Is that the reason why my vagrant powered IP not working? How can I resolve this? Thanks!

I have posted it there as well. This issues seems to be around VPN connection and how its prioritized in DNS lookup. Something related to article KB311218 . http://serverfault.com/questions/356115/vpn-connection-causes-dns-to-use-wrong-dns-server
