VPN Windows
I currently run a 32-bit Windows 7 OS at school. Our school has a VPN network but I can't seem to stay connected to this network for longer than 5 or 10 minutes. I have the security passwords, and keys set up for the built in windows VPN network. The security settings are L2TP with required encryption, but an unencrypted password and no handshake challange (CHAP). It seems that this is a common issue for windows users (the fact that computers can not stay connected for longer than a few minutes) but it is not an issue for the new Mac OS. This leads me to believe that there is an issue with windows and drivers themselves. My wireless card is a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.

What is the VPN server? If it is a user for all Windows system users, we may not be able to resolve it on each Windows system. Maybe there are some conflicts between the VPN server and Windows systems. You can try Network Monitor 3.3 to capture network trace and find some clues in it. 1) Download NetMon3.3 from the following website and install it on the computer2) Launch NetMon3.3.3) In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.3 window, click Create a new capture tab 4) In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window.5) Go to sync time page. Then, switch to Network Monitor, press F5 to start NetMon.6) Try to sync time.7) Go back to the NetMon window and press F7 to stop the NetMon.8) Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file named test.
