VPN PPTP via Windows 7 gives error 807; settings do work on windows XP however
Dear all, I try to logon to my university's network using my PC via a wireless connection using PPTP. I use the same setup as I use on my laptop which is on Windows XP and which works fine. Connection Settings: Connection type: PPTP Security: EAP-MSCHAPv2; 128 MPPE Domain: vpn-eur-pptp.eur.nl Can you give me some advice as to how to analyse my connection and get my VPN-connection working? It is hard to do research while lacking any connection to the university's VPN-connection and associated online journal permissions (e.g. JSTOR.org). Thanks in advance for your reaction. Yours sincerely, Remko

Microsoft has explained this error code. ERROR_VPN_DISCONNECT 807 The network connection between your computer and the VPN server was interrupted. This can be caused by a problem in the VPN transmission and is commonly the result of internet latency or simply that your VPN server has reached capacity. List of Error Codes that you may receive when you try to make a dial-up connection or a VPN connection in Windows 7 I suggest that you temporary disable the anti-virus and firewall. Then, try to connect to the VPN again. If the issue persists, temporary bypass the router, and try to connect. If the issue does not occur, there are some settings on the router cause this issue. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
