VPN Connection : No QOS Packet Scheduler
I need to install QOS Packet Scheduler service on a VPN connection. I'm using the dialogs shown here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Install-QoS-Packet-Scheduler On the final step "select QOS Packet Scheduler from the list" I cannot, because it does not show up as an option. In fact, there is nothing displayed in the dialog. QOS Packet Scheduler is installed as a service on all my other connections. I am just unable to add it to my VPN connection for some reason. Any idea where exactly it would be located if I tried the "Have Disk" option to manually install it?

Hi, please refer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc782652(WS.10).aspx To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections. When you install QoS Packet Scheduler on any network connection, it is installed on every local network connection. Install QoS Packet Scheduler on end-systems on which you want to enable traffic shaping, traffic marking, or both. For computers with dial-up connections, install QoS Packet Scheduler if you want to enable Integrated Services over Slow Links (ISSLOW). Leo, I am having the same problem as the indvidual. I read the link and tried the directions, but when i click add on service, the list comes up blank with the only option as "have disk." I am the administrator on the local machine. For me, it is installed on my local area connection, but not the VPN connection that i set up. Do you have any more ideas? Thanks, Mike
