VISTA Problems-connecting to Internet
I am having problems connecting to the Internet, I've tried both hard line and wireless. I did a ipconfig/all and it shows my Wireless adapter as "media disconnected". Is there anything I can do to help? I've even tried to do a diagnostics and I keep getting a message stating: "Network Diagnostics cannot run because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not running." When I went to manually start the policy I keep getting an "Error 1079:The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process." I'm completely lost! HELP!!!!!!

Hi, To better understand the issue, please export the result of ipconfig /all for me. For the service start failure issue, please confirm if the logon account for the following services is Local Service: Diagnostic Policy Service Base Filtering Engine Windows Firewall Performance Logs & Alerts If some of the above services do not start with the Local Service account, please stop the services and correct them and check the result. Hope it helps.

Hi Joson Zhou - MSFT, I have pretty much the same problem that Bradness1369 explained on Windows Vista Home Premium but I am sorry but I am not sure if I understand your reply to the problem; " Diagnostic Policy Service Base Filtering Engine Windows Firewall Performance Logs & AlertIf some of the above services do not start with the Local Service account, please stop the services and correct them and check the result."Some of the services for me does not start with the Local Service Account.1. What do you exactly mean by "stop the services"??? I can not stop it because it doesnt even start!!! 2. What exactly do you mean by correct them??? What do I need to correct on it and how???? Could you please clarify it at least a little bit.3. Check the result??? Thank You!Appreciated

Well I am not sure if you all have fixed your internet issues. But I work on a helpdesk and have ran into some of these problems. Try disabling IPV6.Start, Control Panel, Network Sharing Center, Manage Connections. Right click on the connection and select properies and uncheck the box with Ipv6. That has worked for me in the past. Let me know if this helps.
