VBScript Problems
This morning I seem to be having issues with VBScript, the only change to the system was installing McAfee Virusscan 8.7 as well as the agent 4.5. When I try to run an VBS file, I get error "Can't find script engine 'VBScript" for script "c:\test.vbs"." I initially noticed the problem because websites were not loading/functioning properly, when I rebooted a login script we have running started throwing the error. I've uninstalled all the McAfee products, but the problem persists. I've run regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and it says it's succeeded, but same problem. I've restarted the PC numerous times. This is windows 7 ultimate. PS: Oddly, Firefox seems to be functioning fine, it will load the pages that internet explorer will not.

You tried a restore point to before the McAfee installation?IE uses Windows libraries, FF doesn't, probably explains the difference.cyanna

Hi, May I know if the script works when you run it manually? Regarding the Internet Explorer issue, please also try the following: 1. Try the Internet Explorer 8 (No Add-ons) Mode. Troubleshooting and Internet Explorers (No Add-ons) Mode 2. Reset Internet Explorer 8: Reset Internet Explorer 8 settings Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
