I am trying to connect my windows 7 laptop to my wireless network which uses my iMac as the router. But it's not working. My iMac is running the Mac OS 10.6.8 Lion operating system. There are several channel choices...1 through 11 and 36, 40, 44, and 48. The default is channel 11. But only two encryption choices 40-bit and 128-bit. It works for my iPad and a PalmOne Life Drive, which uses 40-bit encryption. So, I tried changing the encryption to 128-bit as suggested by Kiran Jayakumar, but it still doesn't work. WHat should I do now? I don't want to buy a wireless router unless I have to do it because of the amount or work that might require.
