Question, on the windows 7 machine, are the drives separate drive letters (partitioned hard drive or physical hard drive) or shares. Please give a better description of how you are accessing the drives.Have you checked both security and sharing permissions?.

Hi,Thank you for the response. The drives are separate drives. Yes, the sharing permissions are set the same, to allow everyone full control. Both drives are set up the same but only one drive will allow access.Hope that helps. Thanks

Did you also check security settings (different from sharing permissions)Check your mapped network drives and see if you have another connection to the device, disconnect it and then see if you can see it.Also are you trying to access from network places or are you going directly to the share ie\\machinename\share

try accessing via the unc path ie \\servername\sharename from the run boxalso check the workgroup name on the new machine and make sure it matches the xp workgroup name (assuming you are not on a domain)

Assuming the other drive is e, can you get to it from the hidden share? ie \\servername\e$also on the windows 7 machine right click on computer, select manage, open shared folders, click on shares, under client connections are they all 0, if so try connecting to good shares and they refresh the shares window. let me know what you see.You might try removing the share, reapply permissions on the files and then recreate the share using everyone full control. Deny permission is on anything it could be what is blocking you as it overrides everything
