Using Outlook Express 6, cannot remove Email address from the block sender folder
I mistakenly moved 3 email addresses to the block sender folder/file. When I tried to cancel (remove from block sender file/folder), messages from those addresses still go directly to the delete box.Accessing WEB mail, email from those addresses appear in my inbox. Apparently, OE6 somehow disregards my request to remove them from the block sender file/folder. Any ideas ?

Outlook Express questions have nothing to do with Internet Explorer and should be asked here.XP - Networking, Mail And Getting Online Forumhttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpnetwork/threadsTools | Message Rules | Blocked Senders. After you highlight the address and click Remove, you must confirm the removal via the prompt. If you did do it correctly and still have problems, the Blocked Senders registry key is likely damaged. 1.. Close OE and then In Regedit, navigate to this key: |--HKEY_CURRENT_USER |-----Identities |--------{GUID} |-----------Software |--------------Microsoft |-----------------Outlook Express |--------------------5.0 where GUID is the Global Unique IDentifier for your Identity. 2.. Under that key, you will find the following sub-keys, amongothers: |-----------------------Block Senders |-----------------------Rules |-----------------------SignaturesSelect the Block Senders Key and delete it. Blocked Senders will be empty, but you can rebuild it now. Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

I tried to remove the names from the blocked senders list and the names disappear but when I open it up the next time, they are back and it still blocks them. I am not computer illiterate. Can you please tell me how to do that in simpler terms? What is Regedit, HKEY-CURRENT-USER etc.?

It sounds as if some 3rd party program, such as an anti-spam or anti-malware program is preventing the settings from sticking. Look to see what's running when your computer starts and disable such and see if you can make the settings stick. Also see point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 You might also try setting up a new Identity (File | Identities) as the one you are using may have gotten corrupted. Once that one is working, you can go to File | Import | Messages and import from the older Identity. steve "maryw64" wrote in message news:2eefd091-fda9-4045-a170-3f16988b66a9...I tried to remove the names from the blocked senders list and the names disappear but when I open it up the next time, they are back and it still blocks them. Click on: Start, then Run ans type in regeditYou will see a few HKEY entries. The rest is self explanatory. 2..
