User profile
I am using windows 7 and the server is windows 2003 server. My computer starts slow. I found there is a profile DomainName\UsreName very large under System Properties\User Profiles. The Delete button on the dialogue window is disabled. How can I get rid
of it? Can I still keep the files on the desktop as they are now?

Hi,
Thanks for the post!
This profile is your domain user account profile. It seems you logon as this domain account. When you logon as local administrator, you can see the Delete button is enabled.
If you delete this profile, you will lose the desktop under that domain user account.

Hi Miya,
Thank you very much for your help.
Would u be able to tell me where the Delete button is? Does this only delete the profile not the domain user account?

Hi Peter,
If you delete the DomainName\UserName profile, it will detele your domain user account desktop settings. It's not recommended to detele it if you're using the domain user account.
When you logon as local administrator, click that DomainName\UserName, you may see the Button enabled:
Why you want to delete that? If you want to speed up your computer, this may help you:

Hi Miya,
The reason I want to remove the domainuser profile is because it is nearly one GB of file size. I think if I delete it, starting PC will be faster a lot. Then I copy my files to desktop again to create a new domain user profile, that profile may
be much smaller. Am I right?

In my computer, the domain user profile size under User Profile is 2.55GB now, the speed is just as normal. Yes, if you have many things on your desktop, the speed would be effected.
Also, it might be caused by some other reasons.
You may try a Clean Boot, disable the startup items and non-Microsoft services to check if the speed is normal.
In addition, if you want to figure which step is slow during your boot, make a boot trace could help you. Refer to the guide here:
