User password for automatically running a scheduled task when logged off
How to give the user password to the Windows 7 scheduler so it will trigger a task for this user even if this user is currently logged off? In previous Windows versions it was possible to register the password for the user. In Windows 7 this options is at least not obvious. I want to run the daily version control update at night when the computer is working but my user is logged off for security reasons. The update must run under my login in order to access the network address for the update. If I check the option "Run whether the user is logged or not" I get the error message: "User account restriction error. The possible reasons are that blank password not allowed...". I want to give a password that is not blank. How? Thanks!Process Improvement Consultant

No. The uer has a password. The question is how to run a task via the scheduler when the user is logged off. In previous versions of Windows it was possible to define a task for the scheduler with a password so the task could run when the user is logged off. In version 7 of Windows I don't see the way of defining such an automatic unattended task that can run for a specific user when the user is logged off. Thanks.J. Klein Process Improvement Consultant
