User gets temporary profile and slow logon to Win 7
I have a couple of Window 7 64 bit clients logging onto a Windows 2003 domain. These clients take a long time to log in and when they finally do, the user gets a black desktop and none of their network services function. The error logs are filled with errors. One is brand new hardware. Here are a couple of the error messages: 1 - The winlogon notification subscriber <profiles> was unavailable to handle a notification event. 2 - The winlogon notification subscriber <GPclient> was unavailable to handle a notification event. 3- Application error faulting application splwow64.exe. 4 - Netlogon error event 5719 - This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain dut ot he following... I've researched the errors individually, but nothing seems to resolve this issue. Any help or solution ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Based on my research, slow logon performance may be related to either of the following scenarios: 1. Roaming Profile size, you can right click the user profile folder to check the size of this roaming profile. Try to reduce and delete unnecessary data. 2. Third party program blocks the roaming profile to be loaded. You can perform a Clean Boot to see if the logon gets faster. 3. Group Policy settings blocks the user logon. I found a customer resolved his similar issue by enabling the entry" Hide an disable all items on the desktop" under User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Desktop in Local Group Policy Editor. 4. Corrupted roaming profile, if it is the case, try to create a new account and manually copy data to the new one. For detailed steps, please refer to Fix a corrupted user proflie. If the issue persists, please help to collect user log on files. To do this, please refer to the following steps: NOTE: GPSVC.log records the detail information of the user log on process and may help us to check the cause of our issue. 1. Access the problematic Windows 7 machine. Click Start -> Run -> type regedit -> click OK. 2. On the left panel, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon. 3. Right click Winlogon and select New -> DWORD Value. 4. Name the new value as UserEnvDebugLevel. 5. Double click UserEnvDebugLevel. 6. Set the value data as 0x00030002 (Hexadecimal). 7. Restart the computer. 8. Log on the domain user to reproduce the mapped drive problem. The information will be written into the %Systemroot%\Debug\UserMode\GPSVC.log file, find it and upload to SkyDrive, then let us know the URL. Hi Dale, This has not actually been resolved. We worked on it Friday but the user is still having the issue - we will have a log for you tomorrow. Please keep it open for a few more days. Thanks!
