User copied a CD and now can not read new CD's
I have a user who copied a data CD for a client. Once the burn was complete, she inserted a new data CD, but kept getting the old list and data using Office document and imaging (TIFF files... They have to use Office document imaging which runs via IE (8) to view the data on the CD's.) If you look at the CD via explorer, it shows the appropriate data.... All this has me determining that it is an IE or imaging issue! That being said, I've already cleared the IE cache, and reinstalled the document imaging software, to no avail. I'm sure I've overlooked something... Thanks

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. According to your description, when you insert another CD, the computer still read the former one. Please do the following to check if the Windows still read the former CD cache. Insert the CD, click Computer, right-click the CD icon, choose “Eject”, then insert the CD again. Now check if it works. If so, I suspect this could be influenced by some third-party software. Fix this problem, you can modify the registry. 1. Click the Start Button, type regedit and then press ENTER. 2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 3. Right click the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} entry, choose "Export", select Desktop in the Save in box and type backup in File Name. Click Save. Please Note: The backup file is on the Desktop and named backup.reg. We can simply restore the registry by double-clicking the backup.reg file. 4. Highlight this key ({4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}), on the right pane, and then check if Upperfilters and Lowerfilters value are present. If so, please right click on the values and select "Delete" to remove them. 5. Restart the computer Best Regards, Miya Yao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. I apologize for not responding sooner.... Once I was able to get on-site, I realized that the user dumped all the data into a temp folder... and never cleared out the file files "waiting to be burned to a CD" Once I did that everything operated properly. Thank s for all of your help.
