User Message when shutdown script runs?
A customer has locked-down Windows 7 thin clients. Even the Shutdown button from the start menu is hidden, the employees shut down the clients with the power button. Have written a GPO shutdown script with wuinstall.exe (http://www.wuinstall.com/ that checks for security updates and installs them at shutdown. This works fine. But Windows doesn't even display a message "running shutdown scripts", and there is a high risk that users are pressing the power button for a long time, because Windows only displays "Shutting down" during the update installation for a long time. When running the script visible, a command prompt opens, and the user sees what happening. But the user is also able to close this command prompt which interrrupts the security update installation. Does anyone knows how is it possible to display a custom message during the execution of a shutdown script, that can't be closed or canceled by the user? Thank you all in advance for any help. Franz
