User Downloads folder rescanned each time it is opened - WHY?
I have a Windows 7 client user running Ultimate who's Downloads folder, which currently contains 116 items, is rescanned each time the folder is opened in Windows Explorer (green bar travels left to right across address bar during scan). This scan, which might take 30 seconds, alloys the user. Indexing Options shows the folder as included in the index, and this is the only folder I've identified with this problem. Any ideas about why this is happening? Thanks. miker

Thanks for the quick reply. This seems to happen only with the user's download folder. Almost all of the items in the folder are files, there are in it only a handful of sub-folders. What do you think?

I think re-indexing might solve your problem. Try this: Control panel->indexing->advanced->rebuild Thanks,
