User Consent tasks
There are several tasks in the task schedular that are there to provide feedback to Microsoft, ie. the Consolidator task (If the user has consented to participate in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement ).Is there a way to determine ALL of the tasks which are collecting and providing data to Microsoft as part of "user consent"? If not, this would be a nice applet to add to the Control Panel so the user could easily identify, and opt-in, opt-out at will.Doc

Nice blog, but does not really answer my question.Bacically, I want to know what items/issues I have given consent to, and which I have not. There appears to be no easy way to determine this.Doc

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I do not want to see the data or information. I just want to know what items/programs (eg IE8)I have given consent to. And, if I have inadvertently given consent to something, or I now wish to give consent to something, how do I revoke or reconsider?Doc

That form regards privacy. I am not concerned with the privacy issues. I merely want to know what programsI have and have not consented to, and to be able torevoke or reconsider my consent.Just as with AUTOPLAY in the ControlPanel. I can see all of themedia/devices, and change what I want to happen anytime I want. That is what I am looking for with the User Experience consent. What are all of the programs, and how can I opt-in, or opt-out at will?Doc

Thanks again. Considering this more and more, it does seem like a good idea know what Customer Experience programs one has subscribed to, and how to manage your subscriptions. It would also go a long way to satisfy those concerned with privacy. It may be the case where one has previously subscribed, and no longer desires to participate. Or, if having problems with various applicable software, to now subscribe.Doc

I personally know that the Microsoft Customer Experience Program works. About a year ago, Microsoft Office Word 2007 would occassionally freezeupon shutting on my computer running Windows Vista. As it turned out, the issue was transmitted to Microsoft who analyzed the error report and discovered it was my HP printer's software that was the root cause of the issue. Microsoft contacted HP and soon thereafter HP issued a patch for their software. Problem solved!Carey Frisch

Yes, I have no doubt that it works. And, with the data collection, it allows Microsoft to fix issues which impact a large audience quickly. Certainly a worthwhile program.I just have no idea how many programs I am currently part of, and which ones I am not.A side note: HP actually fixes their software?<g> I, as well as thousands of users have a problem HP Solution Center (and its hardcoded flash9b). It breaks everytime you upgrade to the latest flash. Many thousands of complaints made to HP, and not one response.Doc
