User Accounts
Hello,I just start getting into Windows Vista and we are currently setting a new Vista computer at my work to see if we should upgrade to Vista. I was wondering how we can use the same user settings from one user account, to anyone else that logs on to the same computer?New users at the office (including me) are having a hard time with Vista. So I set up a new user account that looks like classical XP with UAC turned off. Now I want to use this profile for everone else. How I can use the same user settings such as, same background image, same icon style's, same text size, and etc.. When a new user log's on?Thank you.Murat Demirbas

Hi Murat Demirbas, You can copy the customize profile to the Default User profile. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Log on to Windows Vista with any user account. Do not use the administrator account. 2. Configure user settings such as background colors and screen savers to meet your company standard. Log off the computer. 3. Log on the computer again with the administrator account. 4. Open a folder, click Organize, click Folder and Search Option, select View tab. Under Advanced Settings, select Show hidden files and folders and then Click OK. 5. Open the folder %systemdrive%\Users, and rename the Default folder (for backup). 6. Create a new folder and name it Default. 7. Click Start, right-click Computer and select Properties. 8. Click Advanced System Settings. Under User Profiles, click Settings. 9. The User Profiles dialog box shows a list of profiles stored on the computer. Click the name of the user you used in step 1. Click Copy To. 10. In the Copy To dialog box, click Browse and expand Computer > %systemdrive% > Users, select Default. 11. In Permitted to use, click Change. Type the name Everyone, and then click OK. 12. Click OK to start copying the profile. Close all remaining windows and log off the computer when the copying process is complete. After that, please log on the machine with a new User account and check if it meets your requirement. Hope it helps.
