User Account Control Exceptions
I have a corporate application that runs an file called getserver.exe which I believe pulls data down from the server. However UAC kicks in asking for admin password. I want if possible to setup elevated rights just for that program so a normal user doesn't get that prompt Is this possible ?Ian Burnell, London (UK)

Just to add to this if you turn UAC off the application works fine - but this is not a real solution. The idea is to just allow the specific app(s) through. I have seen threads about using task scheduler but again this isn't really a solutionIan Burnell, London (UK)

Hi Ian Burnell, UAC doesn't have a exception for a certain application. You may need some third-party tool or use the task scheduler create Administrator mode shortcutslike this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/create-administrator-mode-shortcuts-without-uac-prompts-in-windows-vista/ as a workaround.
