If the password is appearing immediately when you turn on the machine, it is a BIOS password. If this is a desktop computer, remove the CMOS battery for a while. This will restore the BIOS to factory defaults, clearing the password. Then put the battery back in. You will need to reset the BIOS time. It sometimes only takes a few minutes to do this or sometimes hours. Sometimes there is a jumper that needs to be moved. Refer to the computer's manual on the OEM's website (Dell, HP, etc.) if it is that kind of computer or the motherboard manual if it's a generic-built machine. If this computer is a laptop, see: http://www.tech-faq.com/reset-bios-password.shtml Once you've gotten into the machine, you should do a clean install/factory restore of Windows. http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean Install How-To http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Reinstalling_Windows - What you will need on-hand MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
