Use two recording devices simultaneously in Windows 7
I'm trying to use two recording devices at the same time. I can use them individually by switching them to default. Is there any way I can have both of them enabled at the same time? I'm trying to use a mic and the line-in. I'm running sound from a ps3 through my surround sound on my computer. Switching between the two is really a joke, but its the only way I can get either to work at all.

I seriously doubt there is anything built in to Windows 7 that would facilitate this. You need to find "mxing" software. You can search the internet and you may even be able to find some freeware software.

I just find it hard to believe that you can't do this. I don't think "mixing" software is going to help at all. That seems like if I were going to be recording everything.

Windows 7 cannot do yhis it as it is published. You will have to install additional software so accomplish what you want to do. I doesn't make any difference if you want to mix 2 sources or 100 sources; you need mixing software.

Examples would be swell. All I can find is audio mixing for audio files. Nothing really for making two sources one. I've been stuck on this issue for days. Looked everywhere and I cannot find a thing. Everywhere I look this question goes unanswered...

Is there some reason why you can't search the internet and read the info at the resulting URLs to find what your looking for? Try searching for mixing software or recording multiple inputs and other possible variations.

The thing is I am NOT recording audio. I am trying to get the PS3 to play through the speakers and be able to use my mic at the same time on my computer. Has absolutely nothing to do with mixing software. They work separately, but not together. I have googled many things and turned up with nothing. Thats why I turned to asking for help. To record from multiple sources requires hardware that supports it as well as software to record it. Such gear is common in professional sound recording studios. Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! IT/Developer, Windows/Linux/Mainframe Need a some parts finish the new server, see the site for remaining items needed
