Please give us more information to help understand your question. Are you asking about Microsoft Outlook (which is part of the Microsoft Office suite)? Are you asking about Outlook Express (which is built into Windows XP)? Those are E-mail programs that let you read and send mail. They're not E-mail servers. Is the last part of your E-mail account "@live.com", "@hotmail.com", or something else?Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional

Outlook is a mail client and cannot be used as a mail server. If you want to use Outlook to access your Hotmail/MSN/Live account, see this: Send and Receive Windows Live Hotmail emails from a Mail Client.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]------------------------------If a reply helps, please vote it as helpful. A mail server is a remote computer someplace in the world that youconnect to to get your mail. You don't normally need, have, or wantone of your own.You use an e-mail program (technically called an e-mail *client*) toconnect to that remote mail server and get your mail from it.Outlook is one of the many available programs that are e-mailclients. Other such programs are Outlook Express, Windows Mail,Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, Pegasus, Eudora, Agent, etc. None ofthese can be used as mail servers.Ken Blake
