Use BitLocker to Go with standard user
Dear forum members, I read at the windows client techcenter (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee424323(WS.10).aspx) that "Standard user accounts can turn on BitLocker To Go on removable data drives." Therefore I tried to enable Bitlocker to Go with my normal domain user account and it resulted in an "Access is denied". Could anyone help me please how can I enable normal domain users to use bitlocker to go? Thanks, Chris

Hi, Based on my test, I would like to answer you that the local Standard user can turn on BitLocker To Go on a removable drive. This issue can occur by domain Group Policy settings or incorrect user account settings. At this stage, I suggest you login on the machine with local administrator and add the domain user account to the local “Users” group or “Administrators” group, and then try to use BitLocker again. If the issue persists, we can consider that the issue is caused by Group Policy restricted and you may need involve domain administrator for further assistance. Thanks,Novak
