Upgrade from Power Together Campaign copy of Vista to Windows 7 ok?
Can I upgrade from my copy of Vista Business I got from the Microsoft Power Together Campaign and upgrade to Windows 7? And, to do the upgrade, do we need to use the Vista DVD at all or do we just need to use our Vista key? My Vista DVD that I got sent to me from that Power Together Campaign doesn't work anymore (I know because a while ago I tried to reinstall the os but my DVD drive wouldn't see the DVD in it anymore).Intel Pentium 4 @ 3Ghz, 2GB DDR Ram, Nvidia 7600GS - AGP type.

You need an installed and activated Vista version (Vista CD could do, too - but I'm unsure). From Microsoft Store: "To be eligible for the offer, you need to be running a genuine copy of the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems." Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

I have the exact same Vista "Power Together" DVD I received before Vista launched. First of all, it is FULL VERSION , 100% legitimate copy of Vista Business. And yes, you would have absolutely no problems whatsoever upgrading from it to Windows 7. If you are having problems having your DVD recognized, you either have a problem with your DVD drive or the disc itself. Perhaps it has been scratched, smudged, or otherwise damaged. Examine it carefully to be sure. It may also be your drive, so please test out some DVD and CD software to make sure it reads them. You can always order other copies of a disc to use with your Vista activation key from Microsoft for $10 or so. That is exactly what I did when I wanted to upgrade from Vista Business 32 (what was included in the Power Together pack) to Vista Business 64. They send you another disc in a paper sleeve. Best of luck, hope this helps!
