After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from 8.0, my language preferences had changed. It appears they reverted back to the default settings. It seems to me that the settings should be migrated during the upgrade.

I am using a en-gb version of Windows 8 with a US keyboard layout in the Netherlands, which unfortunately requires me to enter the hell of regional setup. I find this to be rather non-intuitive, the input language preferences doubly so. It's easiest to just change various language setting one at a time to various values and see what happens until I get what I want, than to try to understand how it's supposed to work. I would hate to have to go through this on all my machines after upgrading and help all the people with less experience that I helped set-up their machine for.

If you're running Windows 8 and have installed a language pack or a language interface pack (LIP), they'll be removed when you install Windows 8.1 Preview.

I did not install any additional packs. I only modified my keyboard layout from UK to US and time/currency settings from UK to NL, which were reverted during installation of Windows 8.1.
