Updating Win7 RC with RTM-release once more
Hi, when I follow the How to back up a PC link provided by Robinson Zhang it says: Note: The backup methods described here do not preserve installed programsonly data . Seems to me that I might as well not bother with Windows Easy Transfer, then, and do a regular install as I will have to reinstall all software anyway. Or am I missing something? Thank you.Slickassnot

Slick - Well.. It depends. If you used the programs installed under Windows 7 to create stuff - and you want to actually KEEP them, then yes, you probably would want to back it all up before you wipe it all out. You know - Word documents, MP3s, videos, spreadsheets, stored email, etc... If you actually didn't do anything creative - didn't write anything - and actually followed the instructions to only use Windows 7 RC on a test machine and don't care about any of what's on the drive - then by all means - you're more than free to wipe it out. In addition to data files - WET will transfer SETTINGS... So if you'd like to save yourself an hour or two setting Windows 7 RTM up the way you had the RC (Same themes, wallpaper, power settings, etc..) then it might be a good idea to use WET.
