Update error
After installing MS Office 2003 then updating to office SP3 why does the Win 7 updater break?, error "WindowsUpdate_80072EFE." I've had to repair it on 2 accusation via "services.msc." after receiving updates for MS Office, possibly a Win 7 bug? any help please

fred - From my research, the error 80072EFE isn't clearly defined online - but it seems to have to do with a connection error of some sort. It could be an app getting in the way of Windows Update (i.e. a firewall), or it could be a networking issue. Another possible issue would be your clock - make sure it's set to the correct time and time zone. A third possible culprit - antivirus. Which one are you running? If so, try disabling it.

you might look at this older informations: http://www.electrosonics.net/technotes/xperror0x8024402C.htm. the errorcode itself seems related to wrong proxy / firewall settings, but i've no idea how these would be changed by updating Office 2003.Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

Hi Wolfie, I haven't installed a third party firewall, clock & time zone correct, NOD32 Antivirus, checked network settings nothing there that I can see that would cause updater to stop working, thanks for the suggestions though.
