Unwanted Microsoft Account

Unwanted Microsoft Account required when upgrading to Windows 8.1. Why?!?!?!?!? Give the user the option to create MS Account or remain with their already created and customized local account.

Can all the users that did not want the MS account bill Microsoft for the time required to reconfigure their computers?

Posting on Community Forums won't change anything. It's just a different set of outsourced support than on TechNet.

..it does however actually have some true MS employees as staff (and one or two even as volunteers) - but in general, yes, it's not very likely to get much of a hearing in any of the user-accessible forums.

Hi,

When you sign in to your PC or device with a Microsoft account, you can get apps from the Windows Store, back up all your important data and files using free cloud storage, and keep all your favorite stuffdevices, photos, friends, games, settings, music, and so onup to date and in sync.

Try following steps to skip connecting Microsoft account.

Click on link Create a new account (near the bottom of screen, below the Dont have an account? text)

When sign up form appears click on Sign in without a Microsoft account (also on the bottom).

Regards

D. Wu
