Unused DHCP requests by Windows 7 PC's
Hi, I recently deployed 50 Windows 7 PC's. Deployed with MDT onto new bare metal hardware. (Lenovo m58) Some of the 50 pc's request a DHCP addres eventhough all of them are configured with a static addres (no internet acces). The leases are requested, renewed, but don't look used. I can't ping the adresses, and looking at the IP settings shows only the static IP, and the MAC is the same as the dhcp request. I've tried changing the NetBIOS settings to enabled.(instead of use DHCP to get settings) I've disabled the network troubleshooting service. (in case it tried to repair connection to get internet acces) I've looked at the Vpro settings but they're standard. DHCP log: PC's show MAC, other show 11,12/16/10,08:52:55,Renew,192.168.150.61,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:52:56,Renew,192.168.150.60,,002186F81D3D, 11,12/16/10,08:53:04,Renew,192.168.150.60,,002186F81D3D, 15,12/16/10,08:53:07,NACK,192.168.155.31,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:53:07,Renew,192.168.150.61,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:53:10,Renew,192.168.150.61,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:53:23,Renew,192.168.150.61,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:53:23,Renew,192.168.150.61,,002186F7A3DE, 15,12/16/10,08:53:36,NACK,192.168.155.31,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:53:36,Renew,192.168.150.61,,002186F7A3DE, 11,12/16/10,08:54:13,Renew,192.168.150.66,,002186F81FB8, 15,12/16/10,08:54:33,NACK,192.168.155.32,,002186F81FB8, 11,12/16/10,08:54:33,Renew,192.168.150.66,,002186F81FB8, 11,12/16/10,08:54:36,Renew,192.168.150.66,,002186F81FB8, 11,12/16/10,08:54:47,Renew,192.168.150.66,,002186F81FB8, 11,12/16/10,08:54:47,Renew,192.168.150.66,,002186F81FB8, 11,12/16/10,08:54:57,Renew,192.168.150.66,,002186F81FB8, 10,12/16/10,08:58:10,Assign,192.168.150.67,,001E37C22008, 11,12/16/10,08:58:17,Renew,192.168.150.65,,002186F7E744, 11,12/16/10,08:58:20,Renew,192.168.150.65,,002186F7E744, 11,12/16/10,08:58:30,Renew,192.168.150.67,,001E37C22008, 11,12/16/10,09:03:22,Renew,192.168.150.70,,002186F81B6E, 14,12/16/10,09:03:27,Scope Full,192.168.150.0,,, 15,12/16/10,09:05:34,NACK,192.168.155.24,,002186F81D42, 15,12/16/10,09:05:44,NACK,192.168.155.29,,002186F7A8ED, 15,12/16/10,09:08:12,NACK,192.168.155.30,,002186F81BB2,

Hi, According to your description, you try to disable DHCP on your Windows 7: Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click Run, type NAPCLCFG.MSC, and then click OK. Click Enforcement Clients. Right-click DHCP Enforcement Client, and then click Enable or Disable. Also you can enable or disable it via command: 1. To enable the DHCP enforcement client, type: netsh nap client set enforcement ID = 79617 ADMIN = "ENABLE" 2. To disable the DHCP enforcement client, type: netsh nap client set enforcement ID = 79617 ADMIN = "DISABLE" Hope it helps. I've checked the settings but they were disabled on all machines. I did find a solution : I disabled de Intel AMT (ctrl +p during boot). First i just disabled the entire function, but then my case/cpu fan went bezerk. So i enabled the AMT but configured a useless static ip. Just disableing the DHCP was not helping. you had to configure a valid static ip (i used 123.123.123.123) now the PC's do no longer do DHCP requests.
