Unlocking Vista using power button while screensaver is on
I have two vista business machines, a laptop and desktop. Both require username and password to login and lock after 10 minutes of no activity. I was in a hurry this morning and my laptop's screensaver was on and I hit the power button for a second or two to send the shutdown signal to vista. I noticed immediately that a list of running programs popped up asking me if I wanted to continue or cancel. I hit cancel and realized i was never confronted with the ctrl+alt+del to enter the desktop. I was able to duplicate this on my other vista machine today also. Hitting the power button on the login screen does not do the same thing, only when the screen saver is running. Any ideas why this is happening? Anyone else able to do this?

Hi malexander, let's change power options and check if the issue is caused by it: 1. Click Start, go to Control Panel. 2. Double click on Power Options. 3. Choose High performance. Then, let's check the issue again.
