Unknown, intermittant connectivity issues
I am using Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion laptop. I connect to internet through LAN and have done manual configuration. Recently, the a trouble has started with the networking.Suddenly, the page can not be loaded in the browser. When I run diagnostics from browser (IE7), it says that 'not able to connect with the proxy server. check your proxy settings'. But, my proxy settings are alright. When I run diagnostics from Network And Sharing Center, it suggests 'Reset the network adapter'. But nothing happens even after resetting.During this time, the Network Status is always shown as 'Connected'.When I restart the machine, I again can connect. Please suggest a way-out.Thanx.

Hi Ganeshkulkarni,
I would like to confirm if proxy server is configured on the Windows Vista machine. If so, how do you configure it?
Meanwhile, please refer to the following KB article for troubleshooting:

Hope it helps.
