We have a 1:1 program at my school, students take their laptops home at night.  Anyways i have two siblings with the same exact computer were one sibling can connect and the other cannot.  I reset all the wireless connections on the one that cannot connect, cleared dns and made sure driver is updated, again same exact computer as the other one that can connect, and no connection.  

Today i switched her computer out with a different one, still the same exact computer, and no luck, the sister can connect and she cant.  

Question is, because we are on a domain, could this be a profile setting? one sister is a freshmen and the other one is a senior.  My next step is to have them log on to each others computers and when they get home see if they can connect on eachothers laptops.  My biggest problem is that it is at their home and by no means do i want to start making house calls, that will start a slippery slope, but im almost afraid i have to because it is a little unique.  Out of the 500 students we have i have only 2 students that cannot connect at home, but this is a unique one were one can connect and the other one cant.

1. If the problm is computer independent, then remove profile and create new account with new profile.

2. Anytime you have problm like this one, supply more iinformation on configuration and content of event. logs.

3. Use network monitor to analyze network traffic. Wireshark will do the job.

4. Double check what children are installing on their computers - you may be surprized.

Also, you can try to recreate the problematic account in your domain AD to check the results.

ok, it is a computer problem and not a account problem, the sister tried to log on and she could not log on either.  The funny thing is that the computer is the same model, but its the second one i gave her.  

The logs don't say a thing about a wireless connection and the problem is i really cant make a house call, because if i do that for one i have to do that for any of my 450 kids.  So i am kind of stuck.

I see. Our next plan will be to troubleshoot the issue on that computer not focus on the account.

Since some domain related issue can also be caused by corrupted computer profile in AD, I suggest we try to quit the domain for this computer, rename this computer, and re-join the domain to check the issue.
