Hello SteveDuong, Thank you for your post! It would be helpful if you can provide the following information so we can further diagnose this issue: 1. Is the machine connected to a router or access point? If so, what is the make and model of the device? 2. What Antivirus/Firewall software do you have installed on the machine? 3. Can you provide the ipconfig/all output? To do so, please perform the following steps: 3.1 On Windows Vista machine, click Start, click Programs, click Accessories, and then click Command Prompt. 3.2 At the Command Prompt window type: ipconfig/all 3.3 Click the iconin the menu bar on the left, click Edit, thenclickSelect All. 3.4 Click on the icon again, and choose Copy. 3.5 Then paste the ouput into your next reply. -- Eric Cross Microsoft MVP (Windows Networking) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com

I'm experiencing a similar issue with my local network displaying as "Unidentified Network"The odd thing is that until I upgraded to Service Pack 1, simply deleting the network with all devices connected it would reset itself and recognise itself as a valid network again. Right now the setup I have is: Cable Modem (USB)- Windows Vista - HUB - XBOX 360 Network is Wired CAT5 100MB Crosswired Now the odd thing is prior to SP1 installation, I couldn't connect my XBOX 360 to Media Center. It would recognise and connect as an Extender, however whenever I actually started it on my XBOX 360 it would say that it wasn't connected. Post-SP1 installation, while it is for some reason an "Unindentified Network" I can now use Media Center just perfectly fine. However I've hit another issue as XNA Connect no longer believes the 360 is connected to the network, despite the fact I can quite clearly see it on my Networked Devices. As you can see, DHCP is disabled on the LAN. Reason behind that is because when it was activated, although prior to SP1 I was able to simply use the DNS of my modem to allow the 360 to connect online; afterwards it refused to. So I manually set the network settings instead just as I used to on Windows XP to allow additional computers to use Internet Connection Sharing. It is quite annoying how unless you let Vista take care of things it doesn't like it, but doing so often ends up in very limited connections if at all. I think there really needs to be some serious work done on the network system, as Windows XP was far superior... atleast as far as Wired networks are concerned.
